This weeks throwback takes us to December 2007. The stage, Emirates Stadium

With Arsenal needing a victory over Spurs in a tense North London derby at the Emirates, Arsene Wenger needed a saviour to save Arsenal’s heads. Step up Nicklas Bendtner.

The infamous Danish striker, still young and searching for a starting spot in Wenger’s 11 was brought on with the game tied at one all in the 74th minute. It took the Dane 1.8 seconds to rise above the Spurs defence as head the winner sending the Emirates into a rapture.

Nine year on, the Dane now plies his trade for Championship side Nottingham Forest.

Who knows what rabbit he might pull out of the hat this season, ”All hail lord Bendtner!”
